=11ptDj Kirk State started djing during the era when electro music started to hit the clubs and underground events. Being heavily influenced by a older kid in the neighborhood who was known for having the latest electronics. During those days there was absolutely no dance music or rap being played on the radio and MTV was in its infancy. If you wanted new music you had to go on a hard search for a style that fit your taste. He would be a frequent visitor to the local record store to listen and search for any new music. The older kid had acquired a set of brand new turntables and would make blend tapes of what ever records he had. Dj Kirk State had his first experience seeing a real Dj in action when he seen Jam Master Jay perform in the Fresh Fest with RUN-DMC. =11ptHe began to draw inspiration over time by seeing other styles of Dj’s such as Jazzy Jeff and Dj Cash Money whenever they came to town. Today his new influences are acts such as Gas Lamp Killer and Dj Craze. Dj Kirk State has done the natural migration from Djing to producing and started producing music for local artist eventually opening his own recording studio. Dj Kirk State’s recording studio led to local tv show called “Beat Down Studio” which he would interview local and major acts. Today you can find Dj Kirk State traveling to Private events, corporate events and everywhere on social media. He is currently working with several artist who want a dj to back them up for upcoming mixtapes and shows.His ultimate goal is to showcase his own unique style to the international community.
