Details: Dedra N. Tate, a Howard University graduate, has been a thriving contributor to the entertainment industry for over thirty years. After thirteen years as the president and general manager of Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment, Tate stepped into the entrepreneurial arena with her company Unlimited Contacts, Inc. Under the UCI banner, Tate has successfully leveraged her years of experience and contacts to segue into TV/Film production, event planning, career management, promotion/marketing consulting and public speaking.

Tate is currently the Supervising Producer on the WWOR-TV/MY9 30 Minute “Scripted” Reality Series “Come Back Kings” starring Ed Lover, Treach (Naughty By Nature), Black Rob, Mr. Cheeks, Doitall (Lords of the Underground), comedian “Talent” Harris, actors Jermaine Hopkins & Nashawn Pearse, music industry exec June Balloon and super producer Jameio Pierce. She started her career in 1984 at MTV Networks, Inc. followed by tenures at MCA, Motown, BIV 10 Records & Flavor Unit Entertainment. She was the Supervising Producer for UPN’s VIBE AWARDS and produced projects for Flavor Unit Television and Films, including "KIDNAPPED," a family comedy developed with Lions Gate Entertainment and “WIFEY,” a cutting edge, one hour scripted series pilot produced in conjunction with VH-1 & BET Networks.

 Tate’s feature films include award-winning “Blackout”(Associate Producer) starring Jeffrey Wright and Zoe Saldana and Michael B. Jordan; ”Live, Love, Soul” (Producer/Casting Director/Music Supervisor) starring Chad L. Coleman, Jamie Hector and Terri J. Vaughn, “Zoo”(Associate Producer) and had produced 3 short films; “The Tombs,” “Attempted Burglary” and “Two Days In Harlem.”

 Tate worked with GlobalHue advertising agency’s entertainment and music production subsidiary, Brand Influence, where she was instrumental in securing and overseeing the celebrity talent/judges for the groundbreaking eleven (11) city Verizon “How Sweet The Sound” gospel choir competition/tour. In addition, she served as consulting General Manager for Ruff Ryder Indy label, under the Fontana Distribution umbrella and her industry contacts, work ethic and outstanding reputation has allowed her to build long-term business relationships with clients including Sheryl Lee Ralph, Meli’sa Morgan & Alyson Williams, The Studio Museum in Harlem, AARP, ACE Media Corp. and Kenneth & Kathryn Chenault, booking and overseeing talent and guest appearances for their yearly galas, private and special events.

 The list of artists Tate has worked with, and helped guide the careers of, reads like a who’s who of the record industry: Queen Latifah, Boyz II Men, Naughty By Nature, Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, New Edition, GUY, Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp & Stephanie Mills to name a few.

 Tate served as a jury member for the International Emmy Awards and her awards and honors include the National Urban League "Building Brick Award", Ebony Magazine’s “Outstanding Women In Marketing & Communications,” National Action Network’s "Women of Excellence Award,” 98.7 KISS-FM “Phenomenal Woman” Award and “40 Under 40 Achievement Award.”

In her personal life, Tate is a proud member of The Links, Incorporated and also thrived as a member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.’s Bergen-Passaic Chapter for 13 years, serving in executive positions in from Recording Secretary to Vice President/Membership Chair. A 2015 graduate of the J&J organization, Tate was voted “Distinguished Mother of the Year” during each of her last four years in the organization.

Tate attributes her success to the love, strength and support she gets from her family; each specializing in their own area of expertise for her development. Business savvy and hard work from her mother Sandy, ambition, comedic style and vivacity from her father Bob, attitude and spirit from her “lil” Big sis Jeanine, youthful exuberance from nephew Robbie and her love of life from her teenage son Jian, who will be attending Rutgers University in the Fall.
