To form a service for adoptees with their families.

On August 24, 1965, Robert Lee Taylor Jr. was born. He was adopted at the age of seven by Thomas and Virginia Garris of New Rochelle, New York. Rob was eight months old when he was placed into the foster care system. Being separated from his biological mother and his siblings; also lost in the system, presented much time for Rob to think about his life and family. Five years ago, Rob experienced medical problems that required his medical history that he could not provide. He began his quest to gain medical information about his parents which he acquired from several hospitals, and social services agencies. The state laws revealed that his birth records were sealed. This made it impossible for Rob to locate his biological family. The only information he discovered was the name of his biological mother. Since that experience, Rob has been actively helping others find their biological parents, as well as his quest to find his own. Rob has been successful in helping a mother find her four-year-old son.For over 18 years, Rob Garris has been a Master Barber. His professional career started back in the late 1980's while working on music tours around the country with R&B and Hip Hop artist. The training he experienced on the road prepared Rob for his entrepreneurial endeavors to start his own business in New Rochelle. In the early 90's, Rob opened his own Barbershop; Mackadocious Hair Styles. He used his business as a forum to teach people who were interested in learning the art of unisex hairstyles, which also help many Barbers jump start their careers.Rob has provided employment opportunities for many young men who have been incarcerated; offering them full-time employment where other employers would not. He understood the limited employment opportunities for young men who had served prison terms. Rob has been, and is still recognized by many local and social organizations as a community leader. He has demonstrated a passionate approach to life's problems with a direct emphasis on helping the youth. His work has inspired many people to stay strong, endure and overcome the many obstacles that young people face today.Rob has two sons Dimek age 14, and Zaire age 8. Rob's oldest son Dimek was not with Rob for the first six years of his life. Dimek's mother wasn't sure who Dimek's biological father was. Rob took a paternity test, which proved Dimek to be Rob's son. A month after the test Dimek's mother put their son into the system. Today, because of Rob's relentless efforts, he now has full custody of his son.Rob is eternally grateful for the Garris family who provided him with a home where he could be nurtured. Rob truly loves his adoptive parents and siblings. He is thankful that he was raised by a family full of love and that could develop his present values. God Bless the Garris family, and God bless the biological parents that he hopes to meet one day.Rob's primary goal is to give his life to help children in this system. He truly believes that God has chosen him for this mission in his life.http://throwawaykids.net/news-clip.html
