The Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter knew from a very young age what she wanted to be in life, and has never strayed from her path. Angela lived in a Caribbean, Hip Hop infused community in Brooklyn where she first met producer Easy Moe Bee who took her under his wing and showed her the ropes. Angela flourished quickly, and was soon known as " The Hook Girl ". Her destiny was set, and she began working with various Hip Hop artists such as The Beatnuts, Puffy, and Nas to name a few. Growing up, Angela spent a large part of her teen life in Trinidad & Tobago where she fell in love with Pop radio and learned that this was her true niche. Upon returning to America, she teamed up with award winning producer Salaam Remi. Together, they tailored a sound and style for her. During their writing process, he soon realized that she was not just a songwriter, but a true artist as well. Her style of writing and her very unique voice put her in a league of her own. To accelerate her career, Angela decided to leave Brooklyn and move to London and Sweden where she worked along side some of the best Pop producers in the business. She stayed in Europe for many years, working on her craft and discovering a new musical world including Drum & Bass, Dubstep, and Garage music. Angela fell in love with the UK underground sound, and went on to become a very sought after writer and vocalist in Europe. Angela moved back to America with a new infused sound that was ahead of its time compared to the music scene in NYC. She began working with top producers Jim Jonsin, Diplo and reuniting with Salaam Remi. This is when she penned chart-topping hits for Danity Kane, Lefteye, Nas and House Music legend David Morales. Angela went on to write and co-produce the timeless NYC anthem "Empire State Of Mind" for Jay z feat Alicia Keys. Angela continued her journey as an artist several years ago when labels kept asking "who is that voice on the demo?” Her beautifully distinct voice was no match for the artists who tried to replicate her. Producers began to keep Angela on the songs, and many of them, stemming from the DJ world featured her on their work. This sound quickly became music's newest evolution and she built lasting relationships with Diplo, Magnetic Man and DJ Buddha to name a few. Angela's songs began bubbling around the Internet and festivals, not realizing she was gaining a large fan base, most fans didn't know anything about her. But they knew her voice. In 2012, Diplo recruited Angela for the Snoop Lion project "Reincarnated" where she was a featured artist contributing to a large portion of the album. Angela also went on to be the first female to write and be a featured on the highly acclaimed indie band Slightly Stoopid. In 2015 Angela went back to her roots of the Caribbean and teamed up with "Soca King" Machel Montano, writing their massive global hit " Party Done.” The success of this record and her follow up 2016 hit "Mon Bon Ami", allowed her to reach new fans in all corners of the globe. Quickly stamping her in the global artist category, and hitting stages worldwide, letting everyone know she was not only a singer/songwriter, she was one amazing live performer as well. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; color: #454545}Angela is continuing her new success by embarking on an EP with award winning producer DJ Buddha, taking their love for cultured music, and creating a new sound tailored just for Angela.
