About Vargas

Gabriel G. D. Vargas (born September 15, 1985) is an aspiring Hispanic rapper who records as Vargas. Born in New York, NY, the son of Daniel Vargas a former Latin band member and Wanda Vargas a mother of five.


Vargas was raised true to his Puerto Rican culture. His parents raised him and his five siblings in the Bronx and Queens. At the age of 12, they moved their family to Upstate NY. Due to financial struggles in a family of seven and the feeling as a misfit to his new environment, Vargas began rapping at the age of 13.

By age of 15 he found himself already involved in illegal activities and was introduced to the judicial system. Music was his outlet, his form of expression, his peace.By the age of 16 himself as well as three other members from the Bronx created and group name Wolfgang out of Bailey projects in kings bridge Bronx NY. He was dedicated to writing music and participated in various stage and street battles, finding more comfort in his music. He invested time and money into studio time and mentoring to the development of his talent.

By the age of 20, Vargas was living a life in the fast lane, trying to follow his dreams yet battling life’s realities. He appeared on several mix tapes and completed his first single mix tape money hungry.

At the age of 22, Vargas welcomed his son into this world with his high school sweetheart. With more pressure to be a provider, he worked hard chasing money.

Experiencing a major downfall, Vargas was accused of attempted murder,soon after acquitted of those charges was still sentenced to a two year sentence in state prison. During his incarceration he prepared himself mentally and physically to take on life’s challenges following his release. Sadly on may 27th 2011 his father committed Suicide during his incarceration. Even though deeply sadden Vargas stood tall in the face of extreme adversity.

January 9th 2012 he was released from prison and began his road to recovery. Currently Vargas is a recording hip hop artist with a group known as produced by the vamp. Vargas hopes to become a established artist in the music industry as well as a entrepreneur in many business ventures.
