Type : Public Event

Details: DJ BREAKOUT..........Funky 4 + 1 were one of the first hip-hop groups that contained a female MC and were certainly the first group of their kind that released records commercially. Further, the group were the among the first wave of Bronx crews to release records after the initial success of the Sugarhill Gang in 1979. The Funky 4 consisted of DJ Breakout, K.K. Rockwell, Keith Keith, Lil' Rodney Cee, Jazzy Jeff, and the "plus one" -- Sha Rock. Among DJ Breakout's peers in the early to mid-'70s were such hip-hop pioneers as DJ Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, and Grandmaster Flash. In fact, one of the earlier members of the Funky 4 -- Raheim -- left to join Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, who was replaced by Lil' Rodney Cee.

Dj Tommy Gunnz  love for music started like everyone else at an early age with his parents, having company in the house playing Al Green Percy Sledge etc.At the age of 9 I help work at Bob's record wagon where the love of music really kicked in  but then my aunt's friend son Dj Howie D was starting out but I moved to the Bronx and got involved by listening to crews like Dj Butch Kid and Rayski and others by going to park jams. But later on at age 20 got with my mentor Dj Howie D and he taught me how to mix album and 45's. I was his crate Carrier at the winners palace and he showed me how to read crowds and what records to play to get them moving. After a couple of stint in the penal I got back in the game in 2001 and start working on a new style and Dj Tommy Gunnz was born.
