Charles T. Massey, Jr. Entrepreneur Charles T. Massey, Jr. was born and raised in Harlem, where he graduated from the New York City Public school system. After taking courses in business school and college, he eagerly jumped into the “real world” arena known as Corporate America and has over 25 years of experience working for a few prestigious institutional sales companies. In that period of time, Charles worked with and befriended some very influential people within the financial industry who opened his eyes to a variety of ways to be more meaningful, while serving the business world and also at the grassroots community level. Always seeking to broaden his horizons, he became involved with other successful ventures with companies that afforded him the opportunity to build a global network. Diversity in your income was one of the key things learned from his financial friends. With a bright personality and always a very social person, Charles connected with some like-minded individuals and was always around the entertainment scene. Whether dancing or just networking, it was inevitable that he would become affiliated somehow. So later on, he began working with Angela McKenzie of Initiative Radio (shows that presented awards to Ralph ”Uncle Ralph” McDaniels and the Astronomical Kid, now known as Astro) and Benny Negro & Frankie Bonez (who hosted a successful internet show that featured celebrity guests and also provided a platform for unsigned artists). Plus on the flipside of that, he had the chance to manage a couple of those unsigned talents: R&B/Neo-Soul singer Hassan Farrow and singer Nabrigs. When opportunity knocks, you answer and through relationships Charles was offered the position of Lead Publicist at Dipstick Magazine, an online and print Men’ magazine that catered to beautiful women, the hottest music and exotic cars. During that tenure, you could find he and Will Stylz at almost every celebrity event in NYC nightlife with the Who’s Who in entertainment! One of the highlights for Dipstick Magazine was being invited for Media coverage of the Urbanworld Film Festival, which was sponsored by HBO & BET. Standing on the Red Carpet interviewing actors/actresses such as Nia Long, Evan Ross, Roger Guenveur and the legendary DJ Kid Capri was an amazing experience that took Charles and the magazine’ credibility & confidence to another level. Active in his community early on, it carried over as his love of philanthropy grew. Working with high profile organizations such as Dr. Oz’ HealthCorps, The James Brown Foundation, Jon Bon
Jovi’ JBJ Foundation and The Urban Action Showcase (HBO/Cinemax) along with a few other nonprofits, shows that giving back and committing time to helping others will always be very dear to Charles. Without the love of people and sincere care of quality of life, almost nothing is possible. Around this time,he was also asked by author/baseball historian Daryl Grigsby to participate in his book, “Celebrating Ourselves” about African Americans in baseball. His love of baseball and their conversations led to a chapter written about Charles’ boyhood baseball dreams in the book. Currently, Charles has been busy with a host of things, most notably: Partner/Travel Agent in a full-service premium travel agency named TripVax based in Jacksonville, FL that provides luxury travel worldwide to individuals, groups, small businesses and corporations; the Relationship Manager for The Alexander Pezo Collection, an Atlanta-based haberdashery and accessory brand that makes one of a kind bow-ties, pocket squares and also custom blazers, shirts & pants, etc. for Men and Women. Being featured on the runway during New York Fashion week in September 2016 was a major stepping stone for Alexander Pezo and has already helped to catapult the brand into 2017. In between Charles has also found the time to score a role in the award winning web series Rocona Park, based in the Bronx, N.Y.. To put everything in perspective, all of these creative endeavors fall under his brand, CMASS Enterprise.
