It all started in Brooklyn New York, the year was 1983. The parents of a young childwho had an interest in the art of DJing brought him two turntables and a mixer. Fromthat day on he began his quest to collect records of all kinds and practiced to become thebest DJ he could be and was named DJ Music Rocka.During his training period he wasinfluenced by some of the best DJ’s of that time which in his eyes were the following.DJ’s Jazzy Jay, Theodore, Afrika Bambatta, Kool Hurc, GrandMaster Flash,CharlieChase, Toni Tone, DST, Wiz Kid, Larry Levan, Timmy Regisford, Louie Vega, MarleyMarl and Red Alert. As well as other DJ’s that were making a name for them selves atthe time such as Clark Kent, Scratch, Cash Money, Jazzy Jeff, Kid Capri, Brucie Bee,Ron G, S&S and Wichdoctor to name a few.He was named DJ Music Rocka due to theway he was able to Rock parties by mixing music of many different genres with suchsmooth skill, that people at the parties would not even know when he switched to adifferent style of music.DJ Music Rocka, with his many years of experience, maybe themost underrated DJ from N.Y. if not the entire country. He has played at more parties,than many DJ’s with bigger names, have in their whole careers. Besides playing fornumerous weddings, Proms, house parties, and big clubs for promoters. For many yearshe held down residencies for many Lounge Party Spots throughout New York, and LongIsland. Some of his other accomplishments include DJing on major radio station shows inN.Y. such as the Wendy Williams Show on WBLS 107.5FM as well as The LegendaryMarley Marl Future Flavas Show on Power 105.1FM. He has also hit the road and was ashow DJ for rap group Pitch Black and R&B superstar and Grammy Winner Mya, just toname a few things under his belt.At the present DJ Music Rocka continues to pleasecrowds at least 1 night a week with his marathon sets from 4 to 8 hours a night, so lookout for him at a spot near you.
