Born and raised in Chicago , Illinois , Ramsey first became involved in music in 2012 after the death of his friend Joseph (lil jojo) Coleman who was a aspiring rapper who got killed because of YouTube rap beef.
Rico's debut mixtape RICO DONT SHOOT EM was certified hood gold which catapulted Rico's career which he dropped 3 mixtapes (RICO DONT SHOOT EM, RECKLEZZ CONDUCT, REALER THAN WORDZ) and took over Chicago's underground circuit until he was incarcerated in 2013 for having weapons at a video shoot.
